Item Co-evolution between Trust in Teachers and Higher Education Enabled by ICT Advancement – A Suggestion to ICT Growing Economies(Chitkara University Publications, 2016-10) Chihiro Watanabe; Kashif Naveed; Pekka NeittaanmäkiIn light of the increasing significance of trust-based higher education towards digitally-rich learning environments, co-evolution dynamism between trust in teachers and higher education enabled by ICT advancement was analyzed. Using the rate of trust in teachers for good education in the Global Teacher Status Index, together with statistics on higher education level and ICT advancement, an empirical numerical analysis of 20 countries was attempted. It was identified that while ICT advanced countries have constructed a co-evolution between ICT, higher education and trust, ICT growing countries have not succeeded due to a vicious cycle between ICT and trust. Finland’s educational success can be attributed to this co-evolution while an education productivity paradox can be attributed to a disengagement. It is suggested that steady ICT advancement by making full utilization of external resources in digitally-rich learning environments can be essential to ICT growing countries for their higher education. A new approach for constructing the foregoing co-evolution in a systematic way was thus explored.Item Green Computing(Chitkara University Publications, 2016-10) Jagwinder SinghGreen Computing is the concept to improve environmental conditions. Green Computing has begun to spread in the past few years, gaining increasingly popularity. It includes manufacturing, designing and efficiently using computers and associated subsystems- such as LED,RAM, Processor, Mouse and Keyboard with minimum impact on the environment. We are doing the study and practice of developing Information Technology resources in an environment friendly manner such that our environment get protected. As we all know usage of electronic devices is very popular these days, of which Laptops and Tabs are the most common. Surveys were conducted to analyze power consumption, pattern of devices, components like RAM, Rom processors and LED displays. Furthermore recommendations were made to make them more energy efficient. To promote the idea of green computing, energy star rating were introduced for electronic devices. The more is the star rating, the less is the power consumption. This type of computing can facilitate us to safe and make healthy environment all over the world. Present study will help us to take some initiatives to save vast amount of power which is wasted on very large scale currently under the field of computers/ electronics industry.Item Getting Bulk Data Through Google: An empirical study(Chitkara University Publications, 2016-10) Shama Rani; Jaiteg SinghTo store the information in a database is one of the major tasks. The efficient storage of data is important for future use. Information retrieval is a method of gathering information related to input queries from the various sources or stored databases. To retrieve the information, a search engine plays an important role. A web search engine creates an index to match queries. The quality of information is improved with the help of search engine. For retrieving the information, a search engine comprises some modules such as query processor, a searching and matching function, document processor and page rank capability. This paper focuses on the retrieval of web documents against input queries and stores them in to database. A Google search API can be used to fetch the results. It analyses the data by processing through these modules and downloads the content available in different formats.
